Game 65: Nationals at Yankees

Tonight, Chien-Ming Wang looks to prove to the Yankees he can still pitch. The Yankees beleive in him, and so do the fans, but the Yankees can’t afford to throw Wang out there every five days if he continues to lose. That is why Wang needs to show results tonight, and he knows it. His stuff is there, it is just a matter of putting it all together. I have faith that he can do that tonight against the Nats, who looked awful last night except for the starting pitcher Shairon Martis (who for some reason was taken out of the game to early, fire Manny Acta, haha). Anyway, Wang could have luck on his side today. Yesterday his wife gave birth to their first child, Justin Jesse Wang. In Taiwanese culture babies bring good luck to the parents, let’s hope so. As Wang trots out to the mound in the top of the 1st inning, the following lineup via PeteAbe will walk up to the plate for the Yanks in the bottom of the 1st:

LF Johnny Damon

RF Nick Swisher

1B Mark Teixeira

3B Alex Rodriguez

2B Robinson Cano

C Jorge Posada

DH Hideki Matsui

CF Melky Cabrera

SS Ramiro Pena

And on the mound, the aforementioned Chien-Ming Wang

Jeter not in the lineup tonight

Derek Jeter is not playing tonight with “left ankle stiffness.” He had a MRI, which came back negative. So far he is day to day.

Kyle always getting into trouble…

whether he’s on the mound on breaking up fights with dogs. Yes, breaking up fights with dogs. Kyle had to get stitches on his left hand because one of his dog’s bit him when he tried to break up a fight. Always getting into trouble.

  1. The Yankees lost 3-2 to John Lannan and the Washington Nationals!! Okay the New York kid pitched well from Siena College this John Lannan who grew up on Long Island being a Yankees fan but losing to the Nationals is embarrassing but the Yankees must get over it and win tomorrow weather permitting!!!

  2. This John Lannan only pitch well against the New York Mets and the New York Yankees!! He is not Cy Lannan!! But I want Phil Hughes back into the rotation because he looked terrific!! I got more confidence in Phil Hughes pitching than Wang because the Yankees need wins to make the playoffs and win titles and this is the major leagues not the minor league or developmental league okay!!!

    • Wang pitched very well, if it wasn’t for the two mistakes in that one inning (Pena dropped the ball when someone was stealing, and the first base ump blew a call) he would have only given up 1 run, the Dunn home run. I understand you want Hughes in the rotation and I would too, but I rather have Wang, and when the spot opens up for Hughes they can put him in there.

  3. Joe Girardi gave Chien-Ming Wang another start in the rotation versus the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field next week!!!

  4. The Yankees are playing today game at 4 p.m. with Craig Stammen versus Joba Chamberlain!! And one other thing a fellow Yankees fan told me that A-Rod was still favoring his hip after his hip surgery and Alex Rodriguez is not 100% yet!!!

  5. A-Rod isn’t 100%? Who is your source Mr.Magoo? Whoever told you he isn’t 100% needs to get off whatever drug they’re on and realize that A-Rod is boosting the morale of everyone on that team and they would be more than 3 games out without him!

  6. Then why A-Rod batting 219 and it is over 100 at bats already!! I met a Yankees fan that I sit near me in the Sunday game and he noticed that A-rod was still favoring the hip after Melky Cabrera jumped on him after that Friday night win versus the Mets okay!! I am not lying!! I am not a journalist okay!! It was a private conversation and he told me that information!!!

  7. Listen If someone jumped on me after I had hip surgery I would be in a little pain too. .219 may not be a great average but he is doing much more for the team than hitting!
