Tonight, Chien-Ming Wang looks to prove to the Yankees he can still pitch. The Yankees beleive in him, and so do the fans, but the Yankees can’t afford to throw Wang out there every five days if he continues to lose. That is why Wang needs to show results tonight, and he knows it. His stuff is there, it is just a matter of putting it all together. I have faith that he can do that tonight against the Nats, who looked awful last night except for the starting pitcher Shairon Martis (who for some reason was taken out of the game to early, fire Manny Acta, haha). Anyway, Wang could have luck on his side today. Yesterday his wife gave birth to their first child, Justin Jesse Wang. In Taiwanese culture babies bring good luck to the parents, let’s hope so. As Wang trots out to the mound in the top of the 1st inning, the following lineup via PeteAbe will walk up to the plate for the Yanks in the bottom of the 1st:
LF Johnny Damon
RF Nick Swisher
1B Mark Teixeira
3B Alex Rodriguez
2B Robinson Cano
C Jorge Posada
DH Hideki Matsui
CF Melky Cabrera
SS Ramiro Pena
And on the mound, the aforementioned Chien-Ming Wang
Jeter not in the lineup tonight
Derek Jeter is not playing tonight with “left ankle stiffness.” He had a MRI, which came back negative. So far he is day to day.
Kyle always getting into trouble…
whether he’s on the mound on breaking up fights with dogs. Yes, breaking up fights with dogs. Kyle had to get stitches on his left hand because one of his dog’s bit him when he tried to break up a fight. Always getting into trouble.
