Yankees sweep 2010 ALDS

Last night, behind a dominant Phil Hughes, the Yankees completed a sweep of the Minnesota Twins. The Yankees will now be moving onto the the ALCS and on Friday they will begin playing either the Tampa Bay Rays or the Texas Rangers.

Around baseball

  • The Rangers lead the Rays 2-1 in their ALDS series and will play game 4 this afternoon at 1:00 pm ET.  Wade Davis will go for the Rays while the Rangers will send Tommy Hunter to the hill.
  • The Braves-Giants series is tied at 1 game a piece. They will play game 3 at 4:30 pm ET. Jonathan Sanchez will face Tim Hudson.
  • The Phillies lead the Reds 2-0 and will play tonight at 8:00 pm ET. Cole Hamels will try to lead Philadelphia to a sweep as they face Johnny Cueto.
  • All three games can be found on TBS.

  1. Great series. The Yankees pitching was great and the hitting was even better. The MLB Network team kept saying the Yankees had no pitching behind Sabathia, well I guess we just proved them wrong. The Yankees are going to the ALCS for the 2nd straight year, hopefully we accomplish the same result. The Chase for 28 Continues!!!!

  2. The ALDS is finally over. With the Rays losing in a decisive game 5 to the Texas Rangers the Rangers will now go on to meet the New York Yankees in Arlington. The pitching matchup looks like it will be CC Sabathia vs. C.J. Wilson. Also it pays to keep an eye on the Giants and Phillies in the NLCS to see who either the Yankees or Rangers will be playing in the 2010 World Series. THE CHASE FOR 28 CONTINUES!
