Game 5: Yankees at Rays

After looking pretty bad last night in a loss to the Rays, the Yankees send out this lineup via Chad Jennings to face RHP Wade Davis…

SS Derek Jeter

DH Nick Johnson

1B Mark Teixeira – I think he’ll get his first hit today

3B Alex Rodriguez

2B Robinson Cano

RF Nick Swisher

CF Curtis Granderson

LF Brett Garnder

C Francisco Cervelli

LHP CC Sabathia

Checking up on former Yankees beards

Joseph Pawlikowski of RAB has a nice little run down of the beards of former Yankees.

MSG’s The Line-Up

Has anyone here seen this show? From my understanding they pick the best player in New York history at ever position. I’ve never seen it but it sounds interesting.

  1. CC Sabathia was dominant today in his start! Robbie Cano hit a two run home run, Mark Texieira got his first hit and RBI and Derek Jeter hit a RBI single so far for a 4-0 Yankees lead so far!

    • Haha, you spoke a little too soon didn’t you? The Yankees won 10-0. Anyway, CC was very good today, and I actually felt like he had a good chance at the no-hitter, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. It’s OK though, it is more important to win games.

  2. The Yankees won 10-o. CC Sabathia was dominant in seven and two third innings allowing only one hit. Now the Yankees are 3-2 heading into the rubber game against the Rays tomorrow afternoon with A.J. Burnett on the mound.

  3. The Yankees just need to win series. No wonder a perfect game or a no-hitter is hard to do in a major league game. Just take series in the regular season. I spoke too soon but I was excited because the last time I saw a perfect game or no-hitter pitch by the Yankees was in 1999 by David Cone.
