Game 104: Yankees at White Sox

The Yankees are coming off two games against the Chicago White Sox in which they looked pretty bad. They made stupid mistakes, and the White Sox took advantage of their mistakes. Fortuantly the Yankees are still in first place, and they can still call this White Sox series a split if they win today and tomorrow. Today the Yankees send out the following lineup via Pete Abe to face southpaw John:

SS Derek Jeter

RF Nick Swisher

DH Mark Teixeira

3B Alex Rodriguez

C Jorge Posada

2B Robinson Cano

CF Melky Cabrera

LF Jerry Hairston Jr.

1B Cody Ransom – uh oh

And on the mound, Allan James Burnett

Shelley mad, Shelley smash

Shelley Duncan was called up yesterday. He spent the day enjoying what it felt like to be back in the majors and thinking about getting in a game. He did not play in yesterday’s game, and today he was optioned down to Scranton to make room for recently acquired Jerry Hairston Jr.

“Uh, we’d rather you didn’t pitch against Boston”

In order to have Sergio Mitre not make a start against the Red Sox, the Yankees have changed their rotation a little bit according to Pete Abe. CC will still pitch tomorrow, then it will be Pettitte then Mitre against Toronto, then Chamberlain, Burnett, Sabathia, and Pettitte against the Red Sox.

  1. Shelley’s Back! The Yanks have a tough task tonight as they face off against Perfect Game pitcher Mark Buherle but hopefully A.J. Burnett can put a fire under the Yankees and help them win. Also I have a story to tell you about Shaeffer Hall when we speak again.

  2. A.J. Burnett gave up six runs in four and two thirds innings today!! It is going to be a good pitching matchup tomorrow between C.C. Sabathia and Mark Buherle!! It is going to be frustrating losing to a team named Sox as their nicknames!!
