Today the Yankees take the field at 1:05 against David Price and the defending AL Champions, the Tampa Bay Rays. This year the Rays have not lived up to the hype, going into today they are 28-28 and are in 4th place in the AL East (5 games behind the first place Yankees). Yesterday the game was rained out, but today the Click Here“>forecast looks promising, 75 degrees with mostly sunny skies. Here’s the lineup via PeteAbe that the Yanks plan to send out today:
SS Derek Sanderson Jeter
LF Johnny David Damon
1B Mark Charles Teixeira
3B Alex Emmanuel Rodriguez
DH Jorge Rafael Posada
2B Robinson Jose Cano
RF Nick Thompson Swisher
CF Melky Astacio Cabrera
C Francisco Cervelli
And on the mound, Charles Carsten Sabathia
6 days rest
CC is going today on 6 days rest. I think that may hurt him a bit but he says, “I don’t care.” Okay, fine for me.
Not many new links or stories
However, last night I posted a bunch of links and little stories. Make sure you check it out. Here it is, Rays at Yankees rained out
Objects in mirror are closer than they appear
Brian Bruney is scheduled to throw 15 pitches tomorrow in a two inning simulated game. If he gets through that okay, according to PeteAbe he may only be a week away.
The Yankees lost 9-7 to the Tampa Bay Rays today!! Mariano Rivera gave up four runs in the ninth inning after a 5-5 game after eighth inning!! I am very surprised that Mo gave up four runs and is shocking but the Yankees got only one weakness the bullpen especially the middle reliever I admit to it!!
Tough loss. The Yanks do have a weakness in the bullpen, but Mo isn’t supposed to be part of it. Mo has just not looked right the whole year, but we have realize he is coming of shoulder surgery.
I know that but will the Yankees give Phil Hughes a chance instead of going to Phil Coke as the lefthanded specialist!! I don’t know how Phil Hughes going to perform in pressure situations with runners on base for one and two innings!!! I know Phil Hughes got a four seam fastball and a curveball!!! You need only one or two pitches out of the bullpen to be effective!!
Tough loss for the Bombers. If you want to go back to the LIVE blog it is still open.
