Game 54: Yankees 8 Rangers 6

Melky does it again!

Melky does it again!

I didn’t see much of today’s game, but I did see the most important part. I literally walked in the door, sat down, turned on the game, and saw Melky’s at bat in which he hit the game winning 2 run home run. It was not a walk off home run because it was in the 8th, but it seemed to be the reason the Yanks won. I heard that Chien-Ming Wang pitched better than his stats look, but I can’t really say much about him. Here is the AP report in case you want to catch up on what happened, I still do.
4.2 innings, 7 hits, 5 earned runs, 1 walk, and 5 strike outs. Ehh, the important thing is that the Yanks won.

Burnett Suspended
AJ Burnett has been suspended 6 games for the little incident we saw the other day. He has already appealed the suspension.

  1. I am concerned about how Chien-Ming Wang is going to fare against the Boston Red Sox when his turn come up again!! Joe Girardi did this to break up the lefties but why to have a different look for the opposition every day!!!

  2. Well, I wouldn’t be too concered because even though Boston is Boston, the Rangers are a better hitting club and Chien-Ming Wang should have more arm strength the next time around anyway.

  3. Wang is getting Burnett’s next start due to the suspension which may be shortened because A.J. is appealing that suspension this week.
