Game 47: Yankees at Rangers

How y’all doing tonight. I reckon we got a ball game to play tonight. It’ll be the Yanks up against Derek Holland and the Rangers. Here’s the lineup that Holland will have to face:

SS Derek Jeter

LF Johnny Damon

1B Mark Teixeira

3B Alex Rodiguez

2B Robinson Cano

DH Hideki Matsui

RF Nick Swisher

CF Brett Gardner

C Kevin Cash

And on the mound, Allan James Burnett

Hurry Up, We Need You Now!

Jorge Posada and Xavier Nady are rehabbing down in Tampa. Jorge played 5 innings of defense today in a simulated game, and he could rejoin the team in Cleveland. Nady also played in the simulated game and went 1-3 as a DH. The Yankees could really use these guys tonight, just look at tonight’s lineup. It’s effectively a 5 person lineup with the way Matsui and Swisher have been hitting and the way Gardner and Cash hit. The Yankees really need AJ to step up tonight.

Notes

  • Wang continues to rust in the bullpen
  • Melky supposedly is going or went for an MRI on his right shoulder today after injuring it last night, hopefully all is well
  • Andrew Brackman, one of the Yankees top pitching prospects, had an off night. Check this out.
  • You can get the Yankees media guide, which is usually only available to writers.

  1. Now the Yankees are in first place tie with the Boston Red Sox in the A.L. East!! The Yankees won over the Texas Rangers 9-2 tonight!! A.J. Burnett got the win and he is now 3-2 so far this season!! Next stop the Cleveland Indians at Jacobs Field or Progressive Field on Friday night with Andy Pettitte versus Cliff Lee!! How will C.C. Sabathia get treated by the Indians fans in his return to Cleveland in a Yankees uniform?
