Game 22: Yankees vs. Angels at the Stadium

Lineup via Peter Abraham

Yankees

SS Derek Je-tuh

LF Johhny Damon

1B Mark Teixeira

DH Hideki Matsui

2B Robinson Cano

C Jorge Posada

RF Nick Swisher

CF Melky Cabrera

3B Ramiro Pena

And of course, on the mound, Allan James Burnett

Girardi is going with the same lineup again. Well, it worked before so why not. The Yankees will be up against Anthony Ortega who will be making his second major league start. In his first start on the 25th against Seattle he was not so good. He gave up four runs in five innings.

Also Bobby Abreu will be making his return to the Bronx. I heard the walls are harder in the new stadium compared to the old, maybe Bobby won’t play the field in this series. Anyway, he deserves a loud cheer.

Don't worry Bobby, it won't bite.

ARod Update

ARod played in his first game today (an intersquad game). He went 1-6 with an unclutch home run and two walks. He should be back soon.

Update 8:10
3-2 Angels, bottom of the 4th. The Yankees scored in the first by a Matsui single to score Teixeira who doubled earlier in the inning. Then in the third, Damon hit a solo home run. Burnett looks a little off tonight, not horrible though.

8:29
1st and 3rd for the Yanks. Jeter singles to right, two runs score, one was on an Abreu error. 4-3 Yanks!

Update
Yankees win by a score of 7-4.
