Garcia Has Torn Elbow Ligament

An MRI revealed that Christian Garcia has a torn elbow ligament. While the Yankees are not yet sure how much time he will miss, you can expect him to be out of action for quite a while. He is most likely going to have the second Tommy John surgery of his young career. At this point, I really feel bad for Garcia. He has so much potential, and he really works hard, but he just can’t seem to stay healthy. Good luck Christian, and keep your spirits up.

Granderson’s New Stance

Moshe Mandel takes a look at Curtis Granderson’s new stance and how it may help him against lefties. This is worth the read.

Happy Birthday!

Today is Mark Teixeira’s 30th birthday.

  1. The Yankees won their first two series of the season. Now the Yankees are 4-2 after their 7-3 win today. Hip Hip Jorge hit the go-ahead home run and Curtis Granderson can hit lefties and getting a single off Randy Choate. I am not worry about Curtis Granderson no more with the help of Long the hitting coach for the Yankees but Granderson caught the ball in one of those innings but the umpire got it wrong. All I have to say Tropicana Field got weird ground rules when hitting a speaker in fair or foul territory or a catwalk.

  2. The ground rules are nuts. The Rays should do like the Twins man up and play outdoors. The only way they made it into the World Series in 2008 is because of their schedule and ridiculous home field advantage. All I care about is who won this series and who won the series at Boston. Oh Yeah! It’s the 27 Time World Champion New York Yankees!

    • If it were so easy for the Rays to move outdoors, they would do it in a heartbeat. The problem is that they’re locked into a contract with the Tropicana Dome and they don’t really have enough money to build a new stadium (plus not enough come to watch them for a team as good as they are).
